One Bible scholar encapsulates the book we will be studying, Theologically driven passion for the purity of God’s people. “2 Corinthians is, without a doubt, the most personal of all Paul’s correspondence. As a result, his last letter to the church in Corinth, more than any of his other letters, is ‘theology of the flesh.’” The book focuses upon reconciliation with God, the wondrous atonement for sin that Christ has accomplished, the crucial place of suffering in the life of the Christian, and the importance of godly and courageous church discipline.
